Events That Bring the Community Together
After their extremely successful “Rutland Taste Off”, Melcor’s Black Mountain has presented a cheque for $2,500 to the YMCA of Okanagan in support of the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign which will be used to assist families in Kelowna who are struggling to afford the cost of child care for their children. “We recognize that families face many challenges in daily life. By investing in the Strong Kids Campaign we can make sure that kids have rewarding and beneficial child care and that we have helped to make those challenges easier. Andrew Bruce, Regional Manager, Melcor Developments Ltd.
The Y’s Strong Kids Campaign provides much needed financial support to improve access to quality YMCA programs and services for children and youth in this community. More than 3750 local children participate at the YMCA through the Y’s Financial Sponsorship Program supported by the Y’s Strong Kids Campaign.
“The Y is dedicated to building better communities with healthy, confident, secure and connected children, youth and families, we accomplish this through the commitment of our donors and volunteers – we are honoured to receive these funds and are grateful for the partnership we have with the Melcor’s Black Mountain.” Allie Ramchuk, YMCA Strong Kids Campaign Coordinator.
