Tim Hortons Cookie Campaign is Bringing Smiles to Okanagan Kids
Tim Hortons restaurants located across Kelowna and Winfield raised $30,598 for the YMCA Strong Kids Healthy Snack Program through the local chain’s Smile Cookie campaign. The money came from sales of the $1 smiling chocolate chunk cookies.
“This year’s campaign was a major success, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity of so many loyal guests,” says Chris Chapman, one of nine Tim Hortons restaurant owners. “The Smile Cookie campaign is special to our community because proceeds go directly to helping the children in this program. So not only does the money raised go to a good cause, it stays within the community. We couldn’t be happier about the partnership with the YMCA.”
The YMCA Strong Kids Healthy Snack Program provides healthy snacks and meals to children participating in YMCA Child Care programs free of charge. The Tim Hortons donation will translate to 45 240 healthy snacks served to children enrolled in 2014 Child Care programs.
