We are drown-proofing the Okanagan by providing free swimming lessons to every grade 3 student in School District #23.
Thanks to generous donors, we offer Beyond the Bell; an after school program available to some of the Okanagan's most at-risk kids.
We believe kids should have access to healthy food and snacks in our programs.
The Morningside Rotary Club member Daryl Brost helped facilitate the donation and delivery of $2,000 worth of healthy food and art therapy supplies to the YMCA’s Young Parent Program. This community program provides parents under the age of 24 with the fundamental tools they need to thrive, including child care, parenting education, life skills training, connections to critical resources and a supportive community.
The YMCA wants to inspire our entire community to get active, and their free 21-Day YFitness Challenge has currently generated 5,589 hours of exercise. Participants just have to register by the end of February and get moving for 20 minutes a day anyway they can for 21 days straight to qualify for great prizes including a paddleboard.
Interior Savings has made it possible for the YMCA of Okanagan to purchase much needed play-based equipment for both their Family Play Time and Child Care programs, through their Community Investment Fund. This will ensure the healthy development of our community’s youngest members at multiple locations throughout the Okanagan.
