At the YMCA of Okanagan, we are always looking for individuals who are passionate about working with children to join our team of early educators.

Paid Education Opportunities

Whether you are already an early childhood educator, or you are simply interested in the field, we will help you grow your career. We’ll even pay for your education to become a certified ECE or to obtain advanced certifications including Infant Toddler and Supported Development (a $15,000 value to become a certified ECE)!

At the Y, we are committed to providing a work environment where early childhood educators can expand their ECE practice and build their leadership skills, all while making an impact on the lives of local children and families.

  • Starting wage of $21/hour as a certified ECE
  • A commitment to your health — more time off the floor!
  • Pension + benefits plan
  • Flexible schedules
  • A membership to the Kelowna Family Y, Downtown Y and the H2O Adventure + Fitness Centre
  • Advancement opportunities — our YMCA Child Care division is growing quickly!

Being a local charity, the YMCA of Okanagan is so much more than a space where families drop off their children every day. The Y is a collective community devoted to helping children and families thrive. With a focus on health and well-being, along with an exceptional, proven Playing to Learn curriculum, we help children explore with curiosity, create without limits and build lasting friendships.

As well, the Y helps to ensure every family can access child care, no matter their financial means. Currently 1 in 5 children enrolled in YMCA Child Care are accessing financial assistance.

Help us make a difference. Join our team.

Val's Y is Community

As a single parent, Valene had to work three jobs to support herself and her son, Zach. Guided by advice from a colleague, she applied for YMCA Financial Assistance and was approved, so Zach was able to attend Y programs thanks to the generosity of donors to the YMCA.
