Genna's Story

It was incredibly helpful to learn that I wasn’t the only one struggling with stress. I feel like an entirely different person! I honestly feel something fundamental in me changed.

Kelowna Family YMCA

Ages 18–30

Learn to cope with anxiety.

Getting support for those who experience stress and anxiety is tough and it can be overwhelming to know where to go for help. YMCA Mindfulness Groups are free and support young adults between 18–30 years old. You will learn healthy coping tools to manage anxiety, connect with other young people and receive support—all in a safe and friendly community environment.

Weekly group sessions are led by experienced facilitators with a mental health background. Participants will:

  • Learn evidence-based coping strategies and practice mindfulness to manage stress and anxiety
  • Participate in engaging activities in a safe and welcoming group environment led by trained mental health professionals
  • Receive a complimentary fitness pass and book

YMCA Mindfulness Groups are free and include an all-inclusive fitness and aquatics membership for the duration of the program. The young adult mindfulness groups are seven weeks in duration and designed for ages 18–30.
