Ages 16 to 30
This program is offered as a part of our exciting Career Development Services.
Are you between the ages of 16 to 30 and looking for work? Jumpstart is a 14-week paid program to help you gain the skills you need to find and keep a job in today's market. If you are having a difficult time with your resume, cover letter and finding employment, we want to hear from you.
Jumpstart offers a welcoming and safe environment in which to grow. Offered in Penticton and Kelowna, Jumpstart will help you:
- Build your resume and cover letter
- Earn certificates — First Aid, Foodsafe, WorldHost and WHMIS
- Get hands-on work experience
- Gain confidence and skill-building training
- Get support with your job search
In YMCA Jumpstart Employment Essentials, you will learn the ins and outs of finding and keeping a job while earning a living allowance to help you during your time in the program. We will also help connect you with local employers and assist in facilitating work placements for you to gain hands-on work experience during the final weeks of the program.
