We are taking all necessary precautions to ensure the health and safety of all of our employees and members. Taking our lead from BC's Restart Plan and Worksafe BC, thorough training for all staff and members on health and safety protocols and requirements will be provided to all prior to returning to work or to the facilities.

We are currently monitoring all employees who enter any of our facilities for COVID-19 symptoms. As per our HR Protocols, if an employee is exhibiting any symptoms they are not allowed to work and must call public health for direction.

The recommendation for physical distancing is that people stay at least two metres apart and avoid prolonged close personal contact. COVID-19 is transmitted by an infected person coughing or sneezing droplets and someone breathes them in. Typically, droplets travel less than two metres. The droplet can also land on hard surfaces that we touch and transferred when we touch our faces.

We are working within provincial guidelines for personal protective equipment (PPE) at work. At this time we are not requiring staff, volunteers or members to wear a mask or gloves, and in some roles (like child care) it is recommended that they not wear a mask. However, you can choose to wear them if you feel more comfortable doing so. We will have a limited supply of one time use masks for our employees who request to wear one.

We are currently sharing the new protocols to be followed and will continue to share those with all employees prior to their return to work.
