Make a difference year-round.

You can make the YMCA of Southern Interior BC’s mission a year-round priority by signing up for our monthly giving program. By making a monthly contribution that fits within your budget you will provide a stable, much-needed source of annual funding to support the YMCA’s areas of greatest need. Give what you are comfortable with each month—any amount makes a lasting impact.

Your gift supports the development of life-enriching programs and helps sustain those that impact our communities most vulnerable and at-risk populations.

Getting involved in a YMCA fundraiser or hosting an event in support of the Y enables you to give back to your community in a meaningful and fun way!

Sponsor one of the YMCA's signature events

The YMCA has two signature events that we run each year: YMCA Cycle for Strong Kids and YMCA Move to Give. These fantastic events come with plenty of opportunities for sponsorship with different levels of recognition. We'll be updating our website with more information on these signature events soon.

Host your own fundraising event

Hosting a fundraising event is easy.

1. Come up with a great idea! Funds from events can be generated through sports tournaments, walk/runs, dinner ticket sales, auctions, percentage of food/beverage sales, sponsorships, bottle drives, car washes and so much more.
2. Fill out the application form (link coming soon) and let us know about your event.
3. Call Tammie Watson at 250-491-8672 for more information on hosting a fundraising event.

Leave a gift in your will. Create your legacy.

Including the Y in your estate or long-term planning lets your passion for community live on for future generations. If you would like to leave a legacy gift that reflects your interests and values, we can help.

Steps to take:

1. Consider how you would like to be remembered through your legacy. What is important to you in your life and how will your estate planning reflect your interest and values.
2. Contact your financial advisor or lawyer to start preparing your will, or to add a simple amendment to your existing will. Professional advice will also help you maximize the tax advantages of your gift.
3. If you feel comfortable sharing your legacy gift, please contact the YMCA of Southern Interior BC. We’d like to thank you for your generosity with the opportunity to ensure you are recognized how you wish.

To include a bequest to the YMCA of Southern Interior BC, the following wording will ensure your wishes are carried out.

Options:

• I give to the YMCA of Southern Interior BC, the sum of ($ amount).
• I give all (or a specific percentage or shares) of the residue of my estate to the YMCA of Southern Interior BC.
• I give (insert a specific sum, all or a portion of the residue of my estate) to the YMCA of Southern Interior BC to be used for a purpose related or benefit to (insert specific purpose).

Gifts of Publicly Traded Securities are a strategic way to give. A donation of securities or mutual fund shares is the most efficient way to give charitably, allowing you to give more by not paying tax on capital gains.

It's easy to donate your returnable beverage container refund.

1. Place your unsorted beverage containers into clear plastic bags
2. Bring the bags to your nearest Return-It Express Depot
   Find an Express Depot
3. Print and scan your labels at the label stand
   1. Click on "PRINT LABELS"
   2. Enter the YMCA of SIBC's phone number: 250-491-9622
   3. Select how many labels you need to print (one per bag)
   4. Place one label on each bag
   5. Start scanning your bag labels with a scan gun located below the drop-off window
   6. The screen on the kiosk will confirm if you successfully scanned your bag labels
4. Drop your bags in the designated area or hand them to a clerk.
