The YMCA of Southern Interior BC offers both recreation and child care camps at multiple locations in the southern interior.

Recreation Camps

Our recreational camps for ages 3–12 teach physical literacy and social-emotional skills through sports, swimming, games and creative activities.

Craft and Swim Camp is the perfect fusion of creative expression and aquatic adventures! Free play and imaginative crafts in the morning are followed by swimming in the pool during the afternoons. Campers will be ready on the pool deck for pick-up.

Each day at Sport and Swim Camp is filled with energy and camaraderie as campers engage in lively free play, sports, creative pursuits, and outdoor games. The day concludes with a refreshing swim in the pool. Campers will be ready on the pool deck for pick-up.

The thrill of the court meets the warmth of the season in Y Basketball Camp. Mornings are dedicated to basketball, guiding campers through skill-building drills and games. When the basketballs are set aside, the fun continues with refreshing swims, outdoor adventures, and a variety of creative crafts and activities.

Y Soccer Camp is a whirlwind of soccer skill development where campers learn the ins and outs of the game, from precision passes to goal-scoring glory. But the fun does not stop there; campers can cool off in the pool, enjoy outdoor adventures, and express their creativity through crafts and other activities.

Y Create is the ultimate fusion of science, art, and active play for curious young minds. Campers delve into the wonders of scientific exploration and creative expression through captivating experiments and hands-on crafts. When the masterpieces are complete, the adventure continues with outdoor play, gym activities, swimming, and more.

There are still spaces available in our Spring Break Licensed Child Care Camps for 2024. Spaces are available at the following locations: YMCA Black Mountain Child care Centre at 1650 Gallagher Road, YMCA Quigley Elementary School at 705 Kitch Road & YMCA Okanagan Mission Child Care Centre at 4548 Gordon Drive.

Fantastic Beasts: Join us for a fun filled week where we explore Fantastic Beasts! Inspired by imaginary critters and creatures.

Families with children in a YMCA of SIBC Licensed Child Care Spring Break camp are able to access and apply for the Affordable Child Care Benefit & YMCA Financial Assistance. (The Affordable Child Care Benefit is not available for families with children in YMCA recreation camps.)

Summer Child Care Camps

Licensed Summer Camp will be open for registration on Thursday March 28, 2024. Licensed YMCA Child Care Camps are a home away from home, where your child can make friends and explore their interests.

Camp is available at the following locations:

Gems Galore takes you on an exhilarating journey through a treasure trove of rocks, gold, and gems, where every glittering gem holds a story waiting to be discovered. Leaders in Training Program (Ages 12–15)

Youth interested in becoming day camp leaders can develop transferable skills and gain over 30 hours of hands-on experience under the mentorship of YMCA staff. This program starts with one week of leadership training. In the following week, the participants support camp programs for younger children.

Licensed Summer Care

Licensed YMCA Child Care centres are a home away from home, where your child can make friends and explore their interests. Registration will open to the public on Thursday, March 28, 2024. Please email childcare@ymcasibc.ca if you are interested in summer care.

Pro-D Day Camps (Ages 6–12)

Bring your kids to burn some energy with gym activities, swimming, crafts, and games on their day away from school.

Winter Holiday Camps (Ages 6–12)

Embark on an unforgettable winter adventure in our Winter Camps at H2O or the Kelowna Family Y! With a perfect mix of indoor and outdoor activities, including supervised swimming, thrilling winter sports, creative crafts, and cozy downtime, your child is sure to make lasting memories. Registration opens in the fall.

Child & Youth Programs and Recreation

From swimming to sports, art, leadership, movie nights and Family Play Time, the Y has a variety of recreational programs available year round to keep all ages and stages active, social, and engaged in a fun setting. 

Financial Assistance

As a charity, the Y believes no family should be turned away because of financial circumstances. Thanks to generous donors, the Y is able to provide financial assistance on camps and children's programs to families who could not otherwise afford them.
