Are you struggling while looking for work? Jumpstart is a 14-week paid program to help you find and keep a job in today's market. If you are having a difficult time with your resume and cover letter, and struggling to find employment, we want to help. Jumpstart offers a welcoming and safe environment in which to grow.

Offered in Penticton and Kelowna, Jumpstart will help you:

  • Build your resume and cover letter
  • Earn certificates — First Aid, Foodsafe, WorldHost and WHMIS
  • Obtain hands-on work experience
  • Gain confidence and skill-building training
  • Get support with your job search

    In YMCA Jumpstart Employment Essentials, you will learn the ins and outs of finding and keeping a job, all while earning a living allowance to help you during your time in the program.

    We will also help connect you with local employers and assist in facilitating work placements to help you gain hands-on work experience during the final weeks of the program.

    This program is offered as a part of our exciting Career Development Services.

    Nuge’s Y is Success

    Nuge was dissatisfied and tired of working at entry-level jobs and needed the motivation to find a fulfilling career path. YMCA Connects helped him earn certifications and discover his passion to be an Early Childhood Educator.

    Financial Assistance

    The YMCA Financial Assistance Program provides assistance for those who wish to register for membership, programs or camps, but are not able to afford the full registration fee.
